Meet our Pastor

The Rev. Brandon L. Montague was born April 25, 1987. He is the son of Patricia Montague and the Late Arron Whittington. He is the proud grandson of Retired Presiding Elder and Mrs. Ernest L. Montague Sr. Proud Husband to Mrs. Shantrice N. Montague. However, everyone knows his heart belongs to his joys Braylin M. and A’launa A. Montague.

​Rev. Montague graduated from the Walbrook Senior High School/ Maritime Industries Academy where he was a member of the NJROTC. After high school, Brandon obtained his Bachelors of Science Degree from Coppin State University. Through his collegiate career, Brandon served on the Royal Court, Student Senate, Student Activities Programming Board, Student Ambassador Association, and National Pan-Hellenic Council where he actively holds focal leadership positions. Brandon is currently employed as the Special Educator in Baltimore City Public School.

Brandon has occupied a plethora of positions in his personal and spiritual life. He has served on numerous levels within the African Methodist Episcopal Church. He has served as the treasurer of the Baltimore Conference YPD, the 1st VP of the Second Episcopal District YPD and the financial secretary of the Second Episcopal District. Under the leadership of Rev. Charles T. Sembly, pastor of Union Bethel AME Church in Randallstown, Maryland, Brandon birthed the Knights of Christ Mime Ministry. He was a young adult delegate to the 48th and 49th sessions of the General Conference. Brandon represented the Baltimore Conference and the Second Episcopal District as the Chief Marshall to the Chairman of the Episcopal Committee in 2012. Rev. Montague is also a proud member of the prestigious Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated and is also a 32nd Degree Mason of the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rights Free Masons. He is currently a member of Bolero Temple No. 4 of the Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine.

​During his Christian journey, Brandon has held ear memberships in three churches, Seaton Memorial A.M.E. Church, Trinity A.M.E. Church, and Union Bethel A.M.E. Church in Randallstown. He has served as Youth Minister of Fair Havens AME Church in Curtis Bay, Maryland under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Linda E. Mouzon.

​At the seat of the 69th Session of the Washington Annual Conference, Brandon was ordained an Itinerant Deacon in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. On the 1st Sunday of September 2022, under the hand of Presiding Bishop James L. Davis, Rev. Montague received his First pastoral appointment to St. John AME Church located in Pocomoke City Maryland.

Rev. Montague’s favorite scripture is Romans 8:31 "What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?"
